start where you are - lessons from Lisa Congdon
I'm right in the middle of Lisa Congdon's Creative Live class called Becoming a Working Artist, and one of the things she emphasizes is having a really good website, and a blog that you update daily. Daily?! Did she just say "daily"?
She did. And she acknowledged that it's not always possible to put together a well thought out blog post every single day, no kidding, especially when I still have a "day job". She said sometimes all you have time to do is post a picture of something from your sketchbook and a quick sentence or two, and that's ok. That's basically an Instagram post. I can do that!
I've tried blogging before. So. Many. Times. I've abandoned so many blogs that I'm beginning to feel a little guilty, like I've been picnicking all over the internet and leaving behind all my trash.
But not this time. I believe Lisa when she says that having a blog and updating it frequently is how you get found. I've been naive thinking I could rely on Instagram alone. Btw, are you following me on Instagram yet?
