The People Project: Illustrating Lady Gaga

You may start to notice a theme with the illustrations I’ve been posting so far this week. They all include PEOPLE! One of the subjects I’m most terrified to tackle. More info on that coming on Friday, but for now please enjoy this illustration I did of my queen, Lady Gaga. I know I know, it doesn’t really resemble her. I’m working on it. I think I did better with Lady Gaga than I did with Lisa Congdon.

Drawn from a reference photo of Lady Gaga being interviewed about the rumours that her and her costar Bradley Cooper were dating.

I finally saw A Star Is Born on the weekend. I loved it so much in fact that I watched it twice in one day, and then spent a good chunk of time watching reaction videos, performances, covers of Shallow, and interviews.

In an interview which I believe was with Jimmy Kimmel, she was asked her she felt about the rumours that her and Bradley Cooper are having an affair. Her eyes rolled so hard I thought they were going to fall out and then she said this gem of a quote that I just had to scribble down in my sketchbook. How fitting for me to see that in the middle of my social media hiatus!

An alternate version I made before deciding to include Gaga.

I know I’m super late to the game with this movie. My partner and I had a miscommunication that made me think I should wait for him to see it, but it turned out he didn't want to see it in the first place! I’m happy to own it so I can relive that Shallow concert performance over and over and over.
